Every student has the opportunity to share their culture with the greater LCC community through an “Cultural Day” celebration. Students lead their peers in a presentation about their country’s history, traditions, national dances, music and, of course, food.

“Connections and new opportunities”

"As the Student Council of LCC, we seek to not only represent the student body, but to be a link between the students and the rest of the staff, faculty, and outside communities. This year, Student Council has added a new position, for “external relations & off-campus event coordinator,” which will strengthen the bonds between LCC and Klaipėda. We are planning on creating more events, both on and off-campus, such as dances, music nights, sport events, picnics on the beach (weather permitting), among others. As the president of this year’s Student Council, I’m looking forwards to this coming year and excited to see what we can improve!"

We offer 9 programs that promote equity, social justice, self-knowledge, personal empowerment, collaboration, citizenship, and service in the context of the diverse environment of our university.

Journey of the growth

This award is an incredible reminder about the journey and growth I experienced throughout my time in Leadership Development Program. I was honored to participate in it since my first year, and it radically changed my understanding of leadership. However, this award is not so much a symbol of my own work as it is of what I learned about teamwork, the journey I had alongside amazing mentors, and the unique LCC community – all of which challenged me to grow and lead me through ups and downs.

Change does not come without effort

During my time at LCC I had the privilege of going through the LDP more than once. One of the greatest benefits of the program for me personally was that it encouraged me to interact with leadership as a concept and enabled me to look at, evaluate, and improve my own leadership. Change usually does not come without effort; I experienced the LDP materials and mentorship as a valuable and needed impulse that urged me to become more conscious of my personality, strengths and weaknesses, and leadership style. I can say with confidence that now I am a better leader because of the changes the LDP qualified and motivated me to make.

Students from all years and majors join the Spiritual Life retreat every semester for a day of connection, learning about God, and enjoying good food. At Alpha, students share a homemade meal together while they watch and discuss a film series that examines the beliefs of Christianity and important life questions.

Going Beyond

Impact our local and global community through service and justice by participating in a campaign against modern-day slavery, collecting and distributing gifts to local families at Christmas, or helping lead a camp for 5th graders in Vilnius.
