Our faculty pursue scholarly inquiry in the form of knowledge production—so-called emergent research—and the dissemination of knowledge as a vital and renewable product. As a private international liberal arts university LCC seeks excellence in university-level course content and classroom instruction informed by up to date scholarship and training.

LCC maintains quality and distinguishes itself in research by building on its unique international profile. We are strong in the area of international faculty mobility. Capitalizing on networks and affiliations with North American scholars for the purposes of enhancing LCC research culture and acting as a bridge between Lithuanian and North American scholarly activity.

Nuo karo nukentėjusių šalių studentai aukštojo išsilavinimo galimybes atranda LCC tarptautiniame universitete

Siekdami remti nuo karo nukentėjusių šalių studentus ir suteikti jiems aukštojo išsilavinimo galimybes, LCC tarptautinis universitetas ir LR užsienio reikalų ministerija nuolat tobulina Artimųjų Rytų mokslo programą.Konfliktai Artimųjų Rytų valstybėse vyksta nuolat – tai vienas konfliktiškiausių pasaulio regionų. Nors šiuo metu didesnis dėmesys krypsta Ukrainai, Lietuvos Respublikos užsienio reikalų ministerija ir LCC tarptautinis universitetas, siekdami remti ir padėti visų nuo karo nukentėjusių šalių studentams įgyti išsilavinimą, nuolat plečia Artimųjų Rytų mokslo programą. Studentai iš Sirijos, Irako bei Afganistano yra kviečiami pradėti arba tęsti bakalauro bei magistro studijas Lietuvoje nuo 2014 metų. LCC tarptautinio universiteto duomenimis, šiuo metu čia mokosi 53 studentai: 16 iš Afganistano, 35 iš Irako ir 2 iš Sirijos. Vieni čia atvyksta iš gimtinės, kiti – iš Turkijoje, Jordanijoje ar Europoje esančių pabėgėlių centrų.„Mūsų ir užsienio reikalų ministerijos tikslas – atrinkti jaunuolius, kurie neturi galimybių gimtojoje šalyje pradėti ar tęsti studijų dėl karinės situacijos. Dirbame su partneriais Irake, taip pat su Jungtinių Tautų pabėgėlių agentūra – jie yra įtraukę mūsų programą kaip pavyzdinę į savo duomenų bazę, kurioje dalijamasi švietimo galimybėmis bėgantiems nuo karo. Mūsų programa aprėpia ne tik akademinę pusę – turime galimybę teikti psichologinę pagalbą, padėti sėkmingiau integruotis Lietuvoje“, – teigė Aistė Motekaitienė, LCC tarptautinio universiteto verslo plėtros vadovė. Artimųjų Rytų mokslo programa susidomėję arba į ją nukreipti studentai kartu su įprastu stojimo prašymu turi pateikti ir anglų kalbos testo balą bei turimo išsilavinimo dokumentus. Taip pat, kiekvienam stojančiajam paskiriamas pokalbio laikas susipažinimui ir motyvacijos įvertinimui, o privalumu gali tapti rekomendacinis laiškas iš nevyriausybinės organizacijos, kuri yra gerai susipažinusi su studentu. 2020–2022 m. LR Užsienio reikalų ministerijos finansuojamo projekto metu nemokamas studijas ir stipendiją gavo 15 magistrantų iš Irako. Anot programos dalyvės irakietės Awas Simo, kuri 2020 m. pradėjo tarptautinės vadybos magistro studijas, ji yra pagrindinė savo šeimos maitintoja, todėl nuolaida studijų kainai yra itin svarbi – tai leido siekti išsilavinimo ir toliau dirbant, remti šeimos narius.„Labai vertinu Artimųjų Rytų mokslo programą ir esu dėkinga tiek LCC universitetui, tiek LR užsienio reikalų ministerijai – programa ir parama labai padeda kilusiems iš tokių šalių, kur žmonės nuolat kenčia nuo karų, ginkluotų konfliktų ar finansinių krizių. Pasisėmiau daug žinių iš profesionalių dėstytojų, turėjau galimybę susipažinti su Lietuvos kultūra, aplinka ir žmonėmis. Šis etapas yra vienas svarbiausių mano profesiniame gyvenime“, – sakė Awas Simo. Kitais akademiniais metais LCC tarptautinis universitetas ir toliau plės Artimųjų Rytų mokslo programą ir priims naujų studentų, nukentėjusių nuo karo. Programa plėsis ir už geografinę nuorodą nustatančio programos pavadinimo ribų. Prasidėjus karui Ukrainoje, LCC tarptautinis universitetas įsteigė 100 stipendijų naujiems studentams ukrainiečiams, tuo pačiu suteikdamas akademinę bei finansinę pagalbą jau esamiems studentams iš Ukrainos. Papildomai universitetas vykdo lietuvių kalbos kursus, o ukrainiečių vaikai bei jaunuoliai šią vasarą bus kviečiami dalyvauti įvairiose programose. Projektas finansuojamas Vystomojo bendradarbiavimo ir paramos demokratijai programos lėšomis.LCC universiteto Artimųjų Rytų mokslo programos studentai (1-oji nuotrauka).LCC tarptautinio universiteto verslo plėtros vadovė Aistė Motekaitienė ir studentė iš Irako Awas Simo (dešinėje).

RESEARCH COUNCIL

Organized to promote and support research activity at LCC International University. The council is comprised of representatives from each academic department, including a representative from the library. The council elects its own chair by majority consensus. The Research Council reports to the Academic Vice-President.

Key Objectives

  • Providing guidance for conducting research that interacts with community services and the region
  • Organizing and recommending IRB application and review procedures, including recommending faculty members for service on the IRB
  • Fostering improved communication throughout the LCC learning community about all research related opportunities (e.g. intellectual resources, conferences, presentation, publication opportunities, professional development and funding opportunities etc.)
  • Advocating (to the Academic Vice-President) for workload for research activity
  • Finding and fostering contacts and collaboration with other like-minded universities
  • Centralizing research information and communication.
  • Identifying LCC-specific definitions of research; the Council works with the LCC research centers and solicits input from faculty in revising and owning the LCC Institutional Research Agenda
  • Promoting student-instructor collaboration
  • Orienting new faculty to LCC research fields
  • Providing leadership to LCC’s academic conference organizing efforts
  • Assisting with institutional and program accreditation processes;
  • Standardizing the resources for research.

Center For Faith & Human Flourishing

The CFHF conducts and funds research that seeks fuller understanding of the movement of individuals and communities from "languishing" to "surviving" to "flourishing."

The CFHF is particularly interested in the role of Christian faith in defining and motivating the pursuit of human flourishing.

The Center for DaCT organizes and facilitates dialogue and gatherings to support shaping cultures of peace and understanding both through our LCC community and together with interested individuals.

DaCT is especially interested in stimulating Christ-like actions towards pursuing “justice”, “restoration and reconciliation of relationships”, “service to others”, and strengthening resiliency.

Opportunities include: practicums, workshops and seminars, peace trainings, public theology forums and conferences
