Institutional Review Board

LCC International University is dedicated to the protection of human participants and the ethical treatment of animals in research. Therefore, all research involving humans and animals that is conducted by members of the LCC community for presentation outside the university (including thesis) must be approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB). The university’s IRB ensures that participant recruitment and data storage are in compliance with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation policies that participants (and animals) are protected from unnecessary harm, and that informed consent is obtained by all participants.


The applicant must submit a Research Approval Request Form, as well as supplementary materials such as instruments, informed consent forms, permission to collect data forms, etc., via email. The Research Approval Request Form may be requested from the same email address.

The application is reviewed by members of the IRB committee, and final decisions are made and communicated by the IRB chair. If the request is denied, the applicant may revise the request and resubmit.

Outside researchers wishing to use data or recruit participants from LCC International University should contact the IRB at and include:

  • A brief description of the research
  •  A description of the desired data (including survey responses)
  • A description of how data will be handled in terms of anonymity, confidentiality, and data storage.
  • Confirmation that the proposed research has been reviewed by an ethical review board at the researchers home institution (if applicable)
