IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE

Who is this program for?

This intensive three-week program is tailored for young people aged 15-24. We offer 12 different levels, from beginner to advanced. Older students are also welcome; we group classes by skill level to the best of our ability.

Not a typical classroom experience

Instructors from the US & Europe will help you improve your English communication skills through interactive classes, conversation groups, games and performances.

Community & Exploration

Live and study with students from Lithuania and beyond. Fun classes, evening clubs and weekend excursions will make a memorable summer experience.

Outcomes

Attend at least 85% of the class hours to receive an official certificate that indicates your level within the Common European Framework of Reference for languages.

Key dates

Application deadlines
  • Deadline to apply is June 15.
  • Early application deadline is April 15.
Arrive to Residence Halls
  • Move into Residence Halls: July 5-6.
  • Mandatory residents meeting: July 6 at 8 pm
On-site registration for all students
  • All students must be on site for registration and testing on July 6, from 9:00 to 12:00.
  • Bring your ID card or passport with you.
Classes
  •  July 8-26
Move out of the Residence Halls

You must move out of on-campus housing on July 26 unless you make arrangements prior to your arrival.

Payment must be made after application. Please follow the bank transfer instructions.  

Receive email confirmation

After we receive your payment you will receive a second email confirming your application.  

Move into Halls of Residence on July 8-9

You may not move into housing before July 9 unless you make arrangements prior to June 9

Attend registration on July 9

All participants must be present on-site for registration and language testing.

Family Discounts

If more than one of your family members participates in the program at the same time, each will get a 10% discount.  

Deposits
  • A damage deposit of €45 for residence halls is to be paid upon arrival. If no damage is done during the person’s stay, the deposit will be returned before departure. 
  • If you don't stay in the residence halls you will be asked to leave a deposit of €15 for an LCC ID card. If the card is returned at the end of SLI, the deposit will be returned when you depart.

Unforeseen circumstances may sometimes cause students to request an SLI Course fee refund. Please read our rules:

Bedding

Bring blanket, pillow and linen. Rental is only available upon request during application for students who are arriving by plane. Rental fee is 15 EUR.

In case you use prescription medication or have a headache, upset stomach, etc.  

Typical day at SLI

  • 8:00 – Wake-up call
  • 9:00 – Morning classes begin. Morning classes focus on using all of the language skills. Students are assigned to groups according to their level of English.
  • 12:00 – Lunch break
  • 13:00 – Classes resume. Students attend three different classes for one hour each. Afternoon classes focus on one language skill, for example reading, speaking, grammar or on interesting topics such as literature current events.
  • 16:00 – Classes finish
  • 17:00 – Homework time
  • 18:00 – Time for students to cook and eat dinner in the Residence Halls
  • 19:00 –  Clubs
  • 20:00 – Evening activity (Movie, Games, Music)   

Classes

Come prepared to study hard, ask questions and participate. Be ready to interact in small groups, to speak about current events, write essays and to express your opinion in class.   

Attendance

You must be prepared to attend all of the classes each day and work hard to learn English.  

Homework

You will be required to complete homework after classes to prepare for the next day. Students who consistently do not complete their homework must stay after classes for one hour.

Residence Halls

Home away from home - a community where each person is valued and respected and safety is a priority. In order for this to happen, everyone must help to create an atmosphere where we can live, study, and play together.  

Student rooms

Rooms are shared by up to 6 residents who are grouped by age. Each resident has a bed, desk, closet space and Wi-Fi access. Bathroom and kitchen areas are shared.

Residence Assistance

Residence Life staff are available to help you at all times.

The Resident Directors (RD)

Full time staff members who live in the residence halls. They are responsible for making the halls a safe and welcoming place.   

The Resident Assistants (RA)

LCC International University students who work with the RDs to make the residence halls exciting places to live! They are an excellent resource for students with questions. The RAs will also plan fun events!

You are welcome to use the on-campus fitness center for a small fee. Present your LCC ID card at the fitness center reception desk.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is open from 8:30 - 17:30. Meals are served at set times during the day. You can purchase hot meals, salads, soups, chips and drinks for very reasonable prices.

Kitchen

You can use the kitchens located in the residence halls to cook your own meals. Cooking skills are greatly appreciated by the SLI community.

Library

The LCC library is at your disposal. You will find books, current newspapers, magazines and videos in English. You can use your LCC ID card to check out books and videos.

Staying in Klaipėda

We are based in Lithuania's third largest city, located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Klaipėda is a cultural and business hub that transforms into a resort for the summer season.

You will have no difficulties finding your way around town and enjoying local culture. Over 80% of youth and a fair percentage of the older generation speak English.

Lithuania is a member of the EU and Schengen agreements, which means you can explore neighboring countries and Central Europe without borders.
