Harvard University’s course in computer science and programming offered for LCC students

2019-06-21

LCC International University is expanding opportunities for its students – starting this fall, LCC will offer a study course developed and licensed by Harvard University aimed at developing important skills in computer science and programming.

In cooperation with the Turing Society, Harvard University’s CS50 course curriculum will be offered at LCC. Students will learn everything from simple applications, such as C and Python, to complex applications and the preparation and execution of individual projects. The program includes areas of cryptography, biology, forensic science, game creation and even music creation. The Turing Society — an IT education and technology ecosystem that creates personalized solutions for schools and universities — is uniquely certified to lead this program in Lithuania and the Netherlands.

The development of new tech-related opportunities at LCC International University in collaboration with the Turing Society has been actively supported by the city development agency Klaipėda ID, working with investment promotion, improving the investment environment, and attracting talent and marketing to the city. In order to strengthen the service sector in Klaipėda and deepen the skills of employees in IT and foreign languages, this new and prestigious course of study is seen as a great opportunity to attract more students to Klaipėda.
