2022 Distinguished Alumni Award Winner

The Distinguished Alumni Award recipient for 2022 is Vitaliy Sobko. Vitaliy graduated from LCC International University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

After graduation, Vitaliy was very successful in the private business sector, and by 2016 had reached a senior role in the multinational telecommunications company Ericsson. Then, Vitaliy took a major turn in his career by moving into the non-profit world, establishing a Christian camping ministry, called Camp Maximum, located in the Cherkasy region in Ukraine. The camp offers children and adults a space to engage in outdoor activities, learn together, live together, and build relationships. The camp is fully equipped for people with special needs, the only such place in Ukraine. Now, in 2022, amid the current war, Vitaliy and his team at Camp Maximum are coordinating an international aid effort to rescue, evacuate, feed, and accommodate victims of war and the displaced. It is an immense undertaking that is saving lives.

Vitaliy continues to contribute to the landscape of Christian leadership in Ukraine. His life and his priorities demonstrate the meaningful implementation of LCC's core values, especially in the midst of the tragic and devastating war in Ukraine.
