From forts to ferries, synagogues to sand dunes, monasteries to museums and so much more, you will find there won’t be enough time to explore it all. However, with over 15 hours of sunlight in the summer you can certainly try! Lithuania is one of the best kept secrets of northern Europe and it’s brimming with culture, history, and hospitality.

Course offering

COM 310 Special Topics: Arts and Culture in Northern and Eastern Europe (3 US credits)

Taught by Dr. Travis Myers, Interim Academic Vice President, this course is a regionally focused course investigating the ways art and culture shape one another. It provides an introduction to art and artistic media as a means of cultural and personal expression. Students will visit museums and sites in Klaipeda and beyond to experience for themselves the integration of art and culture. The course provides students with an understanding of the impact of art and artists on history and cultural movements, particularly in the Baltics and nearby countries. Students will be challenged to consider their own understanding of self-expression and its role in shaping their identity.

Internship and volunteer opportunities

Volunteer at kids camp

Teach English to children in 2nd-4th grade, or 5th-8th grade, 5-8 hr / day

If you are interested in volunteering with the Summer Language Institute which is for high schoolers in teaching or student life roles, please email studyabroad@lcc.lt.

Staying in Klaipėda

We are based in Lithuania's third largest city, located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Klaipėda is a cultural and business hub that transforms into a resort for the summer season.

You will have no difficulties finding your way around town and enjoying local culture. Over 80% of youth and a fair percentage of the older generation speak English. 

Lithuania is a member of the EU and Schengen agreements, which means you can explore neighboring countries and the rest of Europe easily.

Residence Halls

Home away from home - a community where each person is valued, respected and safety is a priority. In order for this to happen, everyone must help to create an atmosphere where we can live, study, and play together.

Student rooms

Rooms are shared by 4 or 5 residents of the same age and gender. All rooms are set up as a suite. Each resident has a bed, desk, closet space and Wi-Fi access, with a bathroom and shower, and a full-size refrigerator in their suite. There is a large, modern kitchen and lounge on each floor.
