Bio

Author or editor of thirteen books in communication and over 100 conference papers, journal articles, and book chapters. I have taught in several universities in and out of the United States, including the American University in Bulgaria, The George Washington University, Northwestern University, and Calvin University. I have conducted field research collaborating with local non-profit organizations, in over forty countries and am currently finalizing two research projects in French West Africa. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, with my wife of over 50 years.
