"Michael Cox has served as Associate Professor of Biblical Studies at Ouachita Baptist University and as Affiliate Faculty at LCC International University since 2023. Michael served as a member of LCC’s faculty from January 2019 until May of 2023 where he taught courses on biblical literature and theology and spiritual formation. Michael holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Ouachita Baptist University, a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Exegesis from Wheaton College, and a PhD in Theological Studies, Old Testament, from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He has completed coursework for a Master of Arts in Second Language Acquisition and Pedagogy from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Prior to teaching at LCC, Michael served as Robert D. Orr Fellow and Research Analyst at The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity, in Deerfield, IL. He also taught for a number of years at Trinity International University and Ouachita Baptist University and served in various roles in Residence Life, including Director of Residence Life at Ouachita Baptist University. Michael’s research interests include social boundaries within the Bible’s vision for God’s people. This ‘work at the boundaries’ has led him to explore widely in cognitive science methodologies, ethics and bioethics, in addition to historical, literary, and theological methodologies. His book, Purge the Evil from Among You: Deuteronomy’s Social Vision of Israel’s Social Boundaries, was published in 2024. While Michael and his family currently live in Arkadelphia, Arkansas (USA), he remembers fondly his years of teaching at LCC and maintains connections with the university. While at LCC, Michael supported the work of Vaivorykštės tako gimnazija in Klaipėda. He frequently preaches at local churches. He and his family enjoy football (‘soccer’ in their country), evening walks, and hosting students and friends, and visiting Lithuania."
