Maya Hyunjeong Lee (Ph.D.) is a teacher trainer, writing specialist, and language educator with over 17 years of experience in higher education across the United States, China, and South Korea. She previously served as Director of the Writing Center for Graduate Studies at Jeonbuk National University, where she established and managed comprehensive online and offline support systems. In this role, she oversaw and provided instruction in research writing, editing, and individualized consultations for faculty and graduate students, supporting over 200 full-length manuscripts annually across disciplines, with particular emphasis on STEM fields. She holds a Ph.D. in English Education from Jeonbuk National University, an M.A. in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from Biola University, an M.Div. from Hapdong Theological Seminary, and a B.E. in Industrial Engineering from Jeonbuk National University. Her research interests include second language acquisition, English for academic purposes, and graduate student writing, with particular attention to identity construction through writing and mentoring processes. She enjoys listening to people’s stories across cultures and backgrounds, reading and writing, and playing table tennis though she has yet to move beyond the beginner level.
