Bio

Dr. Beth Seversen earned a BA in Biblical Studies at Fort Wayne Bible College and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Beth completed a PhD in Intercultural Studies at Trinity International University. Before joining LCC Dr. Beth Seversen was Associate Professor of Youth and Christian Ministries Studies at North Park University in Chicago where she taught Ministry, Bible, and Theology courses for students preparing to become church and faith-based leaders.  Previously Beth was an associate program director and adjunct faculty member at Wheaton College. 

Her recent publications include Not Done Yet: Reaching and Keeping Unchurched Emerging Adults (IVPress, 2020) and "Churches Reaching Emerging Adult 'Nones' and 'Dones'” in Secularizing North America" in Against the Tide: Mission amidst the Global Currents of Secularization, William Carey Publishing, 2019. Beth’s research focuses on North American churches effectively reaching, retaining, and incorporating young adults across varied ethnic and social locations when most churches are losing young adults.

Beth is an experienced ministry practitioner and academic with experience in church planting, staff ministry in large congregations and service with her denomination. She is the current President of the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education which seeks to encourage a deep sense of vocation to the scholarly study of evangelism. Beth enjoys coffee and connecting with people, games, film and reading.
