Doug Batson joined LCC for the 2023 fall semester. He concluded a 30-year U.S. Government career at the National Intelligence University in Washington DC with human geography research and publications. For his work in toponymy and rebuilding Afghanistan via land tenure and property rights, he was awarded the 2014 M.F. Burrill Award by the American Association of Geographers. Previously, he had been a practitioner in Federal training and career development. Doug is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and a retired U.S. Army Reserve non-commissioned officer with eight years of overseas service, instructor and foreign language training, and a combat decoration. He holds undergraduate degrees in management, history, and geography; a Ed.M. from Boston University (1984), and a Doctor of Religious Education (1995) from Columbia Evangelical Seminary. Since 2000, Doug has been an adjunct professor with Trinity International University for the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement adult education course that now boasts 250,000 alumni.
