The Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Lithuania reminds LCC students, “Never give up in difficult situations in life.”

2020-09-30

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Republic of Lithuania, Mr. Cosmin George Dinescu, along with the Second Secretary, Mr. Ionut Bogdan Brinzei, Consul General, Mihai Manolescu, and Honorary Consul of Romania to Lithuania, Laura Aldone were our honorary visitors today at LCC International University. Over a cup of coffee with LCC's President, Marlene Wall and Igne Rotautaite-Pukene, our Corporate Communication and Marketing Director, they discussed the possibility of establishing stronger collaboration relations by incorporating students to carry out internships at the Embassy, to organize mutual events, and to assist in communication with various Romanian institutions. Ambassador Dinescu also expressed his interest in encouraging Romanian students to return to their homeland upon completion of studies.

Ambassador Dinescu was invited to interact with students majoring in International Relations and Development (IRD), with four students joining the meeting remotely. The discussion curated by Dr. Scott Neumann, IRD Department Chair and Associate Professor, was designed to introduce students to the career path of an Ambassador, his personal motivation for choosing this career, and the realities and priorities of the Embassy of Romania to Lithuania. The discussion was followed with a Q&A session. Students asked about the Ambassador's motivation in the workplace, his daily life as a diplomat, and how he spends time outside the office. Ambassador Dinescu also invited students to visit the Embassy of Romania in Vilnius.

Ambassador Dinescu and his team were given a tour of the LCC campus, visiting each building and enjoying the beautiful landscape of LCC.

Currently, seven students from Romania are enrolled at LCC, two of which hold dual citizenship in Romania and Moldova. There are 39 total Romanian and/or dual citizenship LCC Alumni.
