Last week, Hailey Altena, Student Success Center Director at LCC, attended International Week organized by our partner, Savonia University of Applied Sciences, Finland. The theme, Good Life Creation, concentrated on how student success & writing centers in higher education promote well-being and a balanced lifestyle. Additionally, the focus was on considering the multidisciplinary approach to student success and well-being as well as learning the best practices from representatives of other universities.

Hailey shared, “During my exchange week at Savonia UAS I had the opportunity to meet with peer colleagues and discuss ideas for Student Success and Wellness at the university level. I learned best practices from colleagues in Belgium and the UK, who have been working on digital modules for student use prior to their arrival at university. As a group, we also learned about integrating vulnerable migrant students into student life and academics. I am grateful for this experience, having spent time sharing ideas and learning from others.”
