Last week, May 12-19, two of our Contemporary Communication faculty members traveled to Athens, Greece to present their work at the Global Communication Association’s 15th annual conference. Andrew Jones and Mike Henry presented their work, “No copyright infringement intended! Technical language and magical language” to an international audience of scholars.
Dr. Jones remarked, “This was an excellent opportunity to present new research that bridges human and technical communication and gain valuable feedback from colleagues around the globe. Not only did we have an opportunity to listen to reports about China’s belt and road initiative, the effects of social media on political news reportage, and the perception of EU member states in Middle East news coverage, we also had the opportunity to engage in deep dialogue about the future of our own work.” Dr. Jones and Professor Henry plan to revise their manuscript for submission later this summer. They will also continue their collaboration with a presentation this Fall exploring rhetoric in the C Programming language.
