LCC International University Contemporary Communication Chair Dr. Michael Finch and Dr. Michael Ray Smith, Distinguished Visiting Professor of Journalism, met with Klaipėda International Business Center chairman Rogerio Silva, MA IM 2016 graduate, yesterday September 6 at Radisson Blu. During the meeting they shared how multiple languages can unite, and how they can hinder communication. Silva shared that, while English is the number one language in Nigeria, the country must contend with hundreds of other languages. These days Silva is an entrepreneur and commercial manager at Akvaservis Ltd., Lithuania, and works with a number of companies including one Lithuanian company. Dr. Finch explained to the audience that this year LCC attracted students from 50+ countries and the language issue can be a benefit. The participants discussed ways in which the multilingual environment can be made harmonious while being respectful to the language differences at the same time.
