Theology faculty Dr. Michael Cox and Dr. Benjamin Giffone from LCC International University, traveled to Aberdeen, Scotland during August 4-9, to present papers at the 23rd Triennial Congress of the International Organization for the Study of the Old Testament (IOSOT) and its sister organizations. The IOSOT is the world’s foremost organization for the academic study of the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible. During the Congress, Dr. Giffone presented a paper entitled, “Hopes for Hezekiah and the Reader’s Disappointment in Isaiah 28–39,” as part of the sessions on the Hebrew Prophets. Dr. Cox contributed to a session on the Pentateuch, “’Cut Off’ and ‘Purge’: Exploring the Relationship between Kārēt and Baʿar in the Laws of the Pentateuch.”
