LCC International University > News and Events > Dr. Jennifer Schneider and Dr. Michelle Howell: a look into the science classes
2021-09-23
This fall semester has been similar to last year yet different in some ways. We asked Natural Science teachers Drs. Jennifer Schneider and Michelle Howell to tell us more about what their experience in teaching has been. They share that one of the challenges that they and their students face is moving the labs that usually are done inside - outside. “We have students that are partially vaccinated and can attend classes outdoors, but not indoors. Another challenge we face is that some students are still remote. For those students we have to come up with different activities for them to do. Sometimes we can find ways they can use materials they have at home to do lab activities” professor Schneider shares.
Natural Science class teachers are not exception to this condition. Many professors in LCC need to be flexible and creative in adapting to the hybrid way of teaching to keep both in-person and remote students engaged and able to learn.
In the pictures you can see LCC students working on their labs with the water from the local LCC pond.
