LCC Hosts An annual Saltshaker conference

2020-01-06

Last week, from December 30 to January 2, LCC hosted the 17th annual Saltshaker conference, an event for Christian youth with the theme: “Being fearless doesn’t mean to be brave.” This year a record number of 236 people participated in the conference. The conference unites various churches and social organizations for serving and encouraging others to live in a way that follows Christ‘s teachings. Saltshaker is organized by a team of volunteers from various Lithuanian and foreign Christian communities as well as some of the LCC staff. The main organizer is Emas Gricius, a 2004 LCC alum. During the conference youth from all over Lithuania participated in various social projects such as visiting orphanages, retirement homes, and homeless shelters. The participants bonded as a Christian community, learning more about God, His teachings, and how He impacts others’ lives. In addition to serving the community, everyone at the conference celebrated New Year’s Eve together in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

Evelina Kriptavičiūtė, a 2019 LCC alumna, attended the Saltshaker conference for the third time. “The first time I attended Saltshaker, I was a sophomore at LCC and a part of the Spiritual Life team. I was not strong in my faith and had questions about salvation. The Saltshaker conference was the place where I fully turned to God and experienced a living relationship with Him. I keep coming back because Saltshaker is exactly a place where the Gospel is spread, and I want to be a part of this amazing work of His.”
