The Klaipėda 2030 strategy is heavily oriented towards foreign investment. Some of the key aims include:
· Attracting €1.5 billion in FDI,
· Creating 25,000 new jobs in the Klaipėda region,
· Boosting exports by 200%.
Global Business Services (GBS) are going to play a major role in achieving these targets. GBS has been identified as one of four priority sectors for development. This means more infrastructure, incentives and support for international GBS investors.
The city development agency Klaipėda ID invites LCC International University community for an open discussion about the GBS, importance of this sector for the city of Klaipėda and career possibilities for graduates.
Klaipėda ID Business Project Manager Kazys Pupinis will introduce the GBS as a sector and will talk about the importance of this sector for the strategic development of Klaipėda as a city.
Team leader at Greencarrier Lina Varapnickė will tell the story of the service center successfully functioning and growing in Klaipėda.
After the two presentations, the organizers will invite the University community to engage in an open discussion about the benefits and potential threats of the GBS as an industry. Bring your questions and prepare for an open discussion.
