2021-05-03
As we come to the end of our Spring Semester 2021 at LCC, we are profoundly grateful for God’s faithfulness. The story of each person (student, faculty/staff, friend, board member, supporter) is evidence of His protection and provision throughout this unusual academic year.

BOARD APPRECIATION
Our campus community was honored by the generous appreciation of our Board of Directors this spring. You can see in the photo the joint message that they shared with us. (The photo includes 100% participation of all board and board emeritus members.)
Dear FACULTY and STAFF, We as Board of Directors THANK YOU for sharing your gifts by partnering with LCC… by embodying “one another” living… by serving with commitment, passion, professionalism and love. THANK YOU for being God’s image-bearers… affirming value and worth to each individual you encounter daily.
We are grateful for a Board of Directors who share a common passion for the mission of LCC.
YEAR BY NUMBERS
An annual campus tradition at the end of each year is a review of the “year by numbers” – some serious, some not so serious. Here are just a few:
676: number of degree-seeking students (BA and MA)
2211: number of alumni (after the May graduation)
1700+: number of goodie bags delivered to students in the residence halls during our monthly of lockdown
48,762,996: number of steps in the spring student “step challenge” (35,000 km!)
93: number of thesis/business plan defenses
42: longest number of days in self-isolation for an individual student
31: number of chapel services
A gazillion: number of hours of screen-time for classes and meetings
Number of students from some of our 53 countries:
160 Ukraine
158 Lithuania
41 Kazakhstan
39 Iraq
36 Georgia
33 Russia
28 Armenia
28 Belarus
22 Albania
19 USA
14 Afghanistan
11 Latvia
Each number represents a story. And each story belongs to a person. The intersection of these stories and these people defines the community that we have shared this year. Pray with us that the transformational experiences of this year will stay with each person, with each student – as they recognize that God’s presence among us has shaped all of us.
ENDING THE YEAR WELL
In a year in which many of our “normal” revenue streams have been radically affected, in a year in which our students will hit a second summer of virtually no employment opportunities:
Join us in supporting our students.
Will you help us meet our 25% increase in Annual Fund donations, to support our students who have virtually no summer employment opportunities, and who come from developing countries where their parents are also living through challenging times?
Will you consider supporting this Christ-centered university, the only one of its kind in a region twice as big as the United States?
Will you offer to host a Zoom Coffee event where we can share our campus updates, including through the voices of our students?
Join us in praying for our students.
Pray with us for those students who will remain on campus throughout the summer months.
Pray with us for those students who will graduate and will enter a world of significant unknowns.
Pray with us for those students who will travel to their home countries, navigating pandemic rules and wondering about summer employment.
THANK YOU!
The donor community that supports LCC has been faithful in consistently supporting the mission of LCC through financial giving. Thank you! We have much to be grateful for.
