As we move to the end of March, we acknowledge the goodness of God, who has protected us and provided for us in this most unusual year. With gratitude, we recognize new beginnings this year, we value community even more, and we feel the support of friends from around the world.
NEW BEGINNINGS
We have recently launched our first Cybersecurity Bootcamp cohort, in collaboration with Cybint, a global cybersecurity training hub. We see this as an important contribution to the growing demand for trained professionals in this sector. As we develop this program and this partnership, we see new possibilities within the country and the region.
We have just finished our first season of women’s basketball at LCC! We played in the highest league in the country, which gave us a significant platform to share LCC with a national audience, as all games were televised (with an average of 2600+ viewers per game). Our LCC commitment to the student-athlete model stands in contrast to other teams. We look forward to next year, when we hope that fans will once again be permitted into games! Please read the story of Vanya, our freshman from Serbia!
STUDENTS AND FACULTY
LCC is all about the people, the relationships, the community. We are drawn together because of a common mission, and we are held together by our shared activities. The activities of our faculty (in teaching and research) and of our staff (in student engagement and in administration) connect us in transformational ways. And our mission as a Christ-centered community shapes that transformation.
Please read the story of connection between Paul Almonte and his former student (now colleague) Oleksandra Smoliar. These are the rich moments of reflection when impact in the classroom is evident years later.
MOVING FORWARD
Our LCC Board of Directors is meeting these days for their spring board meetings. Please pray for them in their decisions – regarding new campus facilities, the pace of growth of the student body, the need for funding for student financial aid and scholarships. The evidence of God’s faithfulness over the past 30 years offers us His promise for the future. May we continually seek His will.
Join us in supporting our students, especially during this year of challenging circumstances.
Will you help us meet our 25% increase in Annual Fund donations, to support our students who have virtually no summer employment opportunities, and who come from developing countries where their parents are also living through challenging times?
Will you consider supporting this Christ-centered university, the only one of its kind in a region twice as big as the United States?
Will you offer to host a Zoom Coffee event where we can share our campus updates, including through the voices of our students?
THANK YOU!
The donor community that supports LCC has been faithful in consistently supporting the mission of LCC through financial giving. Thank you! We have much to be grateful for.
