On November 17–20, Dr. Benjamin D. Giffone of the Center for Faith and Human Flourishing participated in an international colloquium, “Chronicles and the Priestly Literature,” hosted by the Institut romand des sciences bibliques (IRSB) of the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Sixteen speakers, hailing from ten different countries on four continents, presented invited papers investigating the relationship between the book of Chronicles and the Pentateuch in the Hebrew Bible. The conference was fully sponsored by a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation. Dr. Giffone’s presentation was titled, “The Chronicler’s Use and non-Use of the Priestly Day of Purgation: The Chronicler as Reader of Priestly Pentateuchal Narrative.”
