LCC International University > News and Events > Dialogue for Peaceful Change: Training of Facilitators
2026-01-21
As part of the Nordic Council of Ministers–funded mobility project, the Center for Dialogue and Conflict Transformation organized and hosted a Dialogue for Peaceful Change (DPC) Training of Facilitators at LCC International University in Klaipėda. On January 7 – 10, 2026 the training brought together 12 participants for an intensive learning experience focused on strengthening practical skills for dialogue facilitation, mediation, and constructive responses to conflict.
The programme combined short theoretical inputs with a strong emphasis on practice and reflection. Across the two modules, participants worked with conflict analysis and communication tools and took part in guided mediation simulations, supported by coaching and peer feedback.
Participants noted that the learning environment was both engaging and grounded in real-life application. LCC International University student Andrii Huk described the experience as “interesting and quite unique,” highlighting the value of hearing different perspectives and learning how people cope with conflict. He also emphasized the training’s “enormous amount of practical exercises,” which helped him better identify stakeholders and prepare clearer ground for resolving complex situations.
Another LCC student Viktoriia Holovchenko shared that the training was “truly insightful and engaging,” and appreciated that the coaches supported participants not only in understanding the material, but also in applying it in real situations. She also reflected on how group activities helped participants connect more deeply and learn from the diverse perspectives shaped by their backgrounds and personal experiences.
This training is one of several activities supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers grant. Through the project, we continue strengthening dialogue and conflict transformation capacity across the Nordic–Baltic region and supporting communities and professionals working in challenging contexts.
