Practice makes perfect

LCC understands that preparing for studies in a university where English is the main language of instruction might be challenging. Thus we have developed an online English language course for senior high school students to practice their academic English skills in an academic context through discussing and analyzing current global issues.

Relevant global topics

Students will engage with news articles, periodicals, and journals to develop a rich, in-depth understanding of today’s most relevant global topics. Students will learn how to express opinions and compare and contrast opposing views on topics through writing, oral presentations, and discussions.

Meet local and international students

Global Issues in a Modern World is an English course taught online. This study mode allows students to connect different parts of the world and gather people with various backgrounds. The international aspect of the course creates a unique study experience for the participants.

“I had widened my academic vocabulary and made new friends”

At first, I was doubting whether I needed to join this course. I decided to try it and found that it’s definitely worth it! The method of teaching absolutely differs from the usual ways of presenting material in schools, but in a good way. During the course we had 4 different topics and speakers which were highly interesting and useful. Moreover, the teacher gave us opportunities and encouraged us to discuss, express ourselves and share our thoughts with others. By the end, I had widened my academic vocabulary, made new friends, found out a lot of new things about global problems and realised that learning can be really exciting and motivating. I am really thankful for Lidiya, who was our teacher, and LCC for this great opportunity to develop English language skills.

4 week course fee - 60 Eur.
The fee has to be paid via online payment platform by December 1st.

English requirements

English proficiency level B2 (high intermediate) desirable, but not required.
