Venus has 15 years of work experience at 7 different universities around the world, primarily working in the functional areas of campus leadership, residence life, student conduct and international students. A majority of her positions were at universities among the top ranked institutions for international and diverse populations according to the U.S News and World Reports. One of her positions specifically was being the Coordinator for an International Residential College of approximately 700 residents. Her responsibilities included working with live-in faculty as well as overseeing the special-interest religious communities and the language academy program, which paired domestic students with international students who were English Learners. Venus also brings extensive international experience visiting or working in 30 countries on 4 different continents. Prior to her arrival at LCC, she worked in residential life at Ryerson University in Canada and was one of four featured international presenters at a student discipline conference in the Philippines. She also completed study tours of numerous universities in Australia and the United Kingdom, as well as conducted a research project comparing student affairs departments on a global scale at Tecnologico de Monterey in Mexico. This year, she is slated to attend the Global Leadership Summit in Vilnius, the Erasmus Staff Week at American University in Bulgaria and a staff exchange with the American University of Armenia.
